Oregon State University – The Weatherford Garage

At Oregon State University, students are exposed to entrepreneurial education as freshman which makes the program unique compared with other programs across the country.  The thought at OSU is to lay a foundation of entrepreneurship for students at an early stage so students have an entrepreneurial mindset throughout their college careers.

To promote the idea entrepreneurship at a young again, the Austin Entrepreneurship Program at OSU is launching the Weatherford Garage this year.  The Garage is a year long entrepreneurial immersion program  that gives students the tools to start their own businesses while attending college.  Students in the program live within Weatherford Hall, a 300 person entrepreneurship themed residence hall in the heart of campus.

Through the program students receive access to office space, seed funding, mentoring, and consulting. Students are immersed in a variety of activities that ignite their creativity and help them reach their goals of becoming an entrepreneur.

The program was also recently highlighted in the Alaska Airlines In Flight Magazine as an innovative program for college freshman.
