Are you a student who wants to join?

That’s amazing! Applications have to be done a faculty member of your university. How? Follow these steps:

  1. Find out who is your faculty member (p.s. you can find yours on the website of your university most of the times.)
  2. Let them know that you are interested in the UIF program, so they can start the application for you. To make things a little easier you can copy this e-mail and send it to your faculty member!

    Dear [Name faculty-member],

I hope you are doing well.
I am writing to express my interest in participating in the University Innovation Fellows (UIF) program. This is a 6-week program orginally incubated and developed at the d. School at Stanford and now hosted by University of Twente, the Netherlands. Here students become change-makers within their universities, develope skills in innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, and will join a European meet-up to connect with peers across Europe while working on initiatives to improve higher education.

I understand that applications need to be submitted by a faculty member, so I was hoping you would be willing to support my application.

More information can be found on the website. And the application details are here.

Thank you so much for considering my request. I really appreciate your time and support.

    Kind regards,
    [Your name]

  3. If your university/faculty member are willing to sign you up, let them finish the application for you and they will invite you to the platform to fill out your materials. The rest of the steps will follow at that time!

Application

Interested students should begin the application process here. Students apply as a team along with a faculty champion from their schools. Current Fellows interview applicants about their BHAG (big hairy audacious goals). Competition is strongly discouraged as we promote a safe environment of information sharing. After the interview round, students are invited to join us in this global endeavor and become candidates in training.
