The Wichita State University Innovation Fellows would like to invite you to join us for our Midwest Meetup being held Friday to Sunday, September 13-15, 2019, in Wichita, KS. This year we will be hosting a meetup centered around campus and community connections. The Midwest Meetup is being planned in conjunction with the ASEE Midwest Regional Conference occurring September 15-17, 2019. The ASEE Conference will, for the first time, have a parallel student-focused agenda, in addition to the regular conference scheduling. Rather than present papers, students will present Ignites over how they have actively worked to change the future of engineering education. If you are interested in presenting an Ignite at ASEE, please submit an abstract or contact us ASAP.
During the Midwest Meetup, we will get to hear from a local entrepreneur, Mike Ramsey of Bokeh Development in conjunction with Startup Grind U, have a Chopped-style dinner, and spend time in wonderful Wichita exploring the city and meeting new friends. Haven’t been to Kansas before? Well, you’re in luck, because you get to experience a whole new host of Kansas related jokes, and see our beautiful, thriving city, as well as our ever-expanding campus. There are flights heading into Wichita (ICT), but we’re from the Midwest, so driving is fun too! This is the perfect time to invite your incoming candidates for the fall of 2019 in order to get them well adjusted and bonded with your team.
Costs to attend the actual Meetup is only $20, and food/drinks will be provided with that. If you are in need of a cozy couch or floor to sleep on, we may have some available, just contact Austin Nordyke at firstname.lastname@example.org or 620-453-1156 and we can work something out! (Please also ask Austin all of the questions you may have too, he loves them.)
